A Week to Remember

Local Enterprise Week 2026 in Laois was a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate our entrepreneurial community, and I was thrilled to take part in three inspiring events!

The week kicked off with Gerry Duffy at the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, who delivered a powerful session on “5 Business Resources Every Leader Should Use – But Never Do!” His insights and practical advice left attendees motivated and ready to take action.

Next, we enjoyed practical financial guidance from Eoin McGee CFP®, host of RTÉ’s How to Be Good with Money. Eoin shared tips on managing finances, building resilience, and making smarter business decisions, sparking lively discussions and actionable takeaways for all.

Finally, the week ended on a high note with a sold-out Laois Women in Business meet-up & lunch at The Killeshin Hotel & Leisure Club, coinciding with International Women’s Day. Our speaker, Derval O’Rourke, former Irish international athlete and bestselling author, inspired everyone with her journey from athletics to entrepreneurship, highlighting resilience, goal-setting, and healthy lifestyle strategies.

A huge thank you to Laois LEO, Laois Chamber Alliance and Laois County Council for organising such a memorable week. It was wonderful to celebrate female entrepreneurship, business innovation, and community spirit across Laois!
